PITTSFORD (AP) — Vermont State Police say their investigation continues after a Police Academy supervisor killed himself following the confiscation of his home computer as part of a child pornography investigation.

Forty-four-year-old Dave McMullen of Cornwall was found dead behind a maintenance shed at the academy Saturday morning.

The Vermont Criminal Justice Training Council opened a personnel investigation involving McMullen and other staff members earlier this month. Last week, state police began a criminal investigation after finding evidence that McMullen’s work computer had been used to access child pornography.

Police searched McMullen’s home on Friday, removing a computer and other items.

McMullen joined the academy in 2005 as the training coordinator for homeland security.
