For many years, poetry was the broccoli of arts education: Good for you, but for many an acquired taste that was pushed to the side of the well-rounded artistic plate.  

But poetry seems to have made a comeback, and has become a popular starting point for language-centered exploration and competition. 

VPR’s Neal Charnoff sits down to talk about poetry with regular arts commentator Alex Aldrich, executive director of the Vermont Arts Council.
