Some residents in Plymouth want to run a new farmers’ market out of the town’s school.

The number of farmers’ markets in Vermont has recently skyrocketed – more than doubling in the past 10 years. Many markets across the state have grown rapidly and have experienced growing pains, but  Plymouth’s Select Board likes the idea of a farmers’ market in town.

The Board says any income raised through the farmers’ market could benefit emergency services in Plymouth, which were decimateed by Tropical Storm Irene in August.

Plymouth residents will discuss the proposal at town meeting on March 5th.
