(Host) The band Phish is trying to make things right with thousands of fans who were turned away from the group’s farewell concert in Coventry earlier this month.

Phish drummer Jon Fishman says the band’s manager was key to the idea to do something more for those fans.

(Fishman) “So John [Paluska] was calling all of us saying, let’s get the brainstorming going, this is what I’d like to do: I’d like to find something, some way… Of course you can’t totally make it up, of course we’ll refund the tickets, but if there was something a little extra that we could that was special for the people who were turned away.”

(Host) The brainstorming will result in a free recording of the weekend’s music, a specially produced book of photos, plus the ticket refund.

And while the group’s performance in Coventry was their last, the band members will be seeing each other in the near future. Fishman says the thank you gift will include autographs from the band members:

(Fishman) “Whatever idea it was, it was acknowledged that all four of us would sign all 10,000 whatever. So we’re going to have a big day of signing coming up.”

(Host) Rainy weather and muddy conditions at the concert site prompted the band to turn away 8,000 to 10,000 ticket-holders.
