Investigators from the Attorney General’s office have seized patient records from a Burlington ophthalmologist who was accused of performing unnecessary surgery. Last week, the state Medical Practices Board suspended the medical license of Doctor David Chase after a patient complained that he ordered a cataract operation that she did not need.

The attorney general’s office is now investigating. On Friday, investigators obtained a search warrant and seized approximately 1,500 patient files. Any current or former patient of Doctor Chase who needs copies of his or her records should contact the attorney general’s office at (802) 241-4440.
