One Dead, One In Custody After Brattleboro Shooting

(Host) A Brattleboro Food Co-op employee was shot to death Tuesday by a man who walked into the store shortly after it opened for the day, police said.

The Brattleboro Reformer says the suspect, Richard Gagnon, 59, of Marlboro, had worked with the victim, Michael Martin, at the store.

Martin was also 59.

Windham County State’s Attorney Tracy Shriver wouldn’t give details of the shooting or what may have motivated it.

More than a dozen police officers responded to the scene after the shooting, which occurred shortly after 8 a.m.
