(Host) Vermont Emergency Management officials have been getting calls from people who have fuel oil in their flooded basements.
VEM’s Mark Bosma says the oil is a hazardous material, and it’s important to get a professional to clean it up:
(Bosma) "When people’s basements were flooded some oil you know seeped out of the furnace or whatever happened- it happens in a flood – they get some fuel oil in their basement. And they need to get it cleaned up by a professional."
(Host) Bosma recommends looking for someone who specializes in "environmental" or "hazardous material" cleanup.
