Official gives recommendations for rural school choice

A top federal education official says that there are ways to make expanded school choice work in a rural state like Vermont. Deputy undersecretary Nina Rees visited the state on Tuesday to discuss a variety of education issues.

In a meeting at Statehouse, Rees told lawmakers and advocates that the creation of new schools and the use of the Internet and other technology could help expand school choice in Vermont.
