Vermont Yankee has been in the headlines lately, as the nuclear plant tries to find the source of a leak of radioactive tritium. Meanwhile,  President Barack Obama has proposed tripling the Department of Energy’s loan guarantee for the construction of new nuclear power plants in the country.

He’ll be speaking with author and journalist William Tucker. VPR’s Mitch Wertlieb asked Tucker, why he supports Obama’s $54 billion dollar loan guarantee.
