600 members of the Vermont National Guard leave for the Middle East in a deployment that will last at least a year; Congressman Bernie Sanders continues his push for legalizing the re-importation of prescription drugs from Canada; the renewal of a home heating fuel assistance program has a chance to go before Congress but it’s not a top priority for the Senate or House leadership; four students at Mount Anthony Union High School in Bennington have been diagnosed with whooping cough.
