Norwich University in Northfield is laying off four more employees and reducing the hours of 21 workers to help balance the school’s budget.

Norwich President Richard Schneider says the university is working to bridge a seven million dollar shortfall.

Norwich already laid off twelve in December. It also reduced its operating budget and eliminated requested spending increases.

The latest layoffs are in information technology, math and science, and athletics.

Norwich will reduce the hours of employees in library and student services. Their work schedules could be reduced between one and two months and that could take place over the summer.
