A spokesman for Vermont Senator Patrick Leahy says Vermonters will not be involved in a large National Guard troop call-up.
Officials have said thousands of newly mobilized National Guard and Reserve troops and active duty Army units are expected to head overseas in the next rotation. Leahy Spokesman David Carle says Vermonters won’t be included.
Vermont National Guard has almost four thousand members. About 115 are serving overseas and another 34 are serving within the United States.
