A judge has cleared the way for New Hampshire to subpoena records from the Local Government Center in its investigation into whether the center is using health insurance contributions for other purposes.
Judge Larry Smukler denied the center’s request to block the documents’ release. The decision was released Monday.
The center argued the state wanted proprietary documents and personal health information.
The state said it sought financial documents only.
The center provides services and programs to New Hampshire communities, including health insurance.
The Professional Firefighters of New Hampshire has a separate case pending in the state Supreme Court on a similar issue.
