A Senate committee is considering another bill to legalize video slot machines in New Hampshire.
State Senator Lou D’Allesandro believes his bill is an answer for New Hampshire’s economic woes. The bill would legalize video slot machines at six locations with the two largest on the border with Massachusetts.
D’Allesandro’s bill would allow construction of one golf resort and convention center on the border, slot machines at three race tracks and at two sites in the North Country. The bill allows a total of 17-thousand video slot machines and table games for an additional licensing fee.
The Senate Finance Committee holds a hearing on the bill today.
