New Hampshire environmental officials have identified four major challenges facing water resources in the Granite State.

A report prepared by the Department of Environmental Services identified landscape maintenance, shoreland development, community design and the need for more information to better manage water resources as the four biggest challenges.

Commissioner Tom Burack noted New Hampshire has an abundance of high-quality water resources, but reminded residents that the resource is finite and can be stressed.

Burack urged everyone to take responsibility for daily water decisions by marking World Water Day on Monday.
