NH Jobless Rate Ticked Up In February

Initial figures show the unemployment rate in New Hampshire was slightly higher last month than the one before.

The report released yesterday by the New Hampshire Employment Security office shows the seasonally adjusted jobless rate in February was 7.1 percent, up one-tenth of a point from the revised January rate.

The number of employed people rose by more than 2,500 to more than 693,000. The ranks of the unemployed grew by 670, to just under 52,900.
