The New Hampshire House and Senate are preparing for negotiations over a new state budget for the two years beginning July 1.

The House is expected to vote Wednesday to meet with the Senate. Negotiations could start as early as Thursday. The two chambers are about $75 million apart in general fund spending.

But their packages differ more over proposed policy changes, such as the House’s provision to take away workers’ union protections if their contract expired. The Senate took out that and other policy changes it felt should have been dealt with in separate legislation.
