A Vermont House committee has reversed itself and approved a penny-an-ounce tax on sugar-sweetened beverages to pay for health care subsidies, but the measure still has a bumpy road ahead. A Thetford woman disfigured in a 2007 lye attack has received a face transplant at a Boston hospital.  The Springfield select board is discussing a possible transportation deal with developers of a biomass energy plant proposed for the southeastern Vermont community.
