The Shumlin administration was hoping to demolish more than 20 buildings in the state office complex in Waterbury that suffered extensive damage from Tropical Storm Irene. The city of Burlington has closed North Beach again after elevated levels of E. coli were found in the lake following Sunday’s heavy rain. As the one-year anniversary of Tropical Storm Irene approaches, Governor Peter Shumlin says the state will mark the occasion with a celebration in Randolph.
