The second U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has sent a potential death-penalty case back to Vermont for trial. One of the top priorities of the Green Mountain Care Board is to reduce the number of times patients return to the hospital for a serious illness. One hospital in Vermont has taken steps to significantly reduce the rate by beefing up community based services. Flags will be lowered to half-staff at the Vermont State House and all federal, state and public buildings and grounds throughout the day on this September 11th. One year after Tropical Storm Irene, the Red Cross is working with towns to help them prepare for emergencies when outside assistance is not available. The Underhill-Jericho Fire Department is investigating a fire at a trailer it used for training.
