Not the worst case scenario, but still a significant event.  That’s how emergency management officials are sizing up the effects of Tropical Storm Sandy on Vermont. The storm did cause widespread power outages, especially in Vermont’s four southern counties. Green Mountain Power had warned that the Rutland area might be especially hard hit by last night’s storm, but the city this morning and says the city weathered the storm well. The storm did not cause many transportation issues in Vermont.
