The increasing number of Vermont specialty food producers – many of them farmers – is creating a demand for facilities where they can make their products. A new business in Chittenden County is the latest food processing center to come on line – and there are more in the planning stages. The state auditor says cities and towns that have special economic development tax districts should return some of the money they owe the state. After getting complaints from workers about a shortage of parking, the union representing Vermont state employees is holding a meeting at the Statehouse to discuss the issue.
