In Vermont, an estimated 125 veterans are homeless on any given night.  And the Department of Veterans Affairs estimates that only one in ten veterans accesses available services. But Vermont is slowly expanding its transitional housing for vets, and is also looking for ways to prevent homelessness for soldiers now returning from current conflicts. Today marks the 75th anniversary of the completion of the Appalachian Trail. The nearly 22-hundred mile path stretches from Georgia to Maine, passing through parts of Vermont along the way.
