Lawmakers are set to vote on a bill this week that would decriminalize the possession of small amounts of marijuana. The House Judiciary Committee has been taking testimony for weeks and the bill is likely to pass this afternoon. Vermont’s early childhood community is divided over Governor Peter Shumlin’s plan to fund the expansion of child care programs with $17 million from the earned income tax credit. That’s a program that gives tax credits to low-income working people.  Congressmen Peter Welch of Vermont and Bill Owens of New York plan to announce legislation they say will help ensure a stable workforce for Vermont and New York dairy farmers.
