A jury in Newport has found six anti-wind protesters guilty of trespassing on land leased by Green Mountain Power. The so-called Lowell Six got arrested last December while trying to block an access road to the site where G.M.P. was erecting wind turbines on Lowell Mountain. Two Vermont women are facing charges that they provided a drug that led to the death of a Burlington woman in June. Vermont’s general fund revenues for July were stronger than they were last year, but a little less than anticipated. Middle schoolers in Bellows Falls will be disappointed to learn the start of their school year has been delayed nearly a week. The bonus summer vacation time is needed to finalize school renovations.
