The Federal Emergency Management Agency has agreed to buy out 90 properties across Vermont, many of which were damaged by Tropical Storm Irene. The VT House took another step toward protecting the rights of same-sex couples on Friday. Lawmakers voted to require out-of-state compaines that offer health coverage to the spouses of opposite-sex married couples to provide the same thing to same-sex couples. The NY Dept of Transportation will investigate this spring why some of the lights on the new Lake Champlain Bridge don’t work.
