The town of Brattleboro is handing out reflective arm and leg bands to increase the visibility of pedestrians and cyclists after dark. The initiative is part of a wider response to a wave of vehicle-pedestrian accidents in town. Officials with the office overseeing the arrival of a new health care exchange in Vermont are traveling the state to tell Vermonters which options will be available. The Vermont Secretary of State’s office says 11 communities are going to be getting almost $67,000 in grants to make it easier for people with disabilities to vote.
