Nearly a year after an 11-year-old girl vanished from her northern New Hampshire home and was found dead in a river a week later, no arrests have been made and few details about her death are public. As August approaches some communities are planning events to mark the one-year anniversary of the Tropical Storm Irene floods. But the response for individuals to the anniversary can be sensitive. Governor Peter Shumlin is asking Vermonters to share their best photographs of Vermont since Tropical Storm Irene to celebrate the state’s recovery.
