A report from the White House says education and the military could see some of the biggest reductions in Vermont if automatic cuts to the federal budget take hold this week. Of the 130 deaths caused by guns in Vermont over the last two years, all but six were the result of suicide. Now, one lawmaker is trying to address the link between firearms and suicide.  But his proposal is already drawing fire.This month, the Vermont Country Store announced the appointment of Chris Vickers as its new President and CEO. The appointment continues a tradition of appointing a non-family member as CEO of the 3rd generation business. But the Orton family remains very involved in the company.
