As city officials in Burlington look to settle a federal lawsuit aimed at reclaiming taxpayer money from the municipally owned Burlington Telecom, a group of residents wants to create a cooperative to buy the utility. Vermont’s Agency of Agriculture has started its annual ban on winter manure spreading as part of a strategy to protect water quality. And finally, a 26-year-old St. Albans woman is facing charges she was driving under the influence and careless and negligent operation, both with death resulting, following a crash in Troy that killed an elderly couple.
