For weeks, lawmakers have studied Vermont’s prescription drug problem. On Thursday, the House advanced a sweeping bill that would address opiate addiction and abuse. Legislation that would have banned employers from accessing the social media accounts of their workers was watered down to a study of the issue by the Vermont Senate. The New Hampshire House has rejected a proposal to repeal the state’s voter ID law. The Vermont Land Trust says it has raised the $1.85 million it needs to buy 1,100 acres of the land in Bolton that will be added to the Mount Mansfield State Forest.
