The Vermont House gave preliminary approval this morning to a bill that would require out-of-state employers to offer the same health coverage to employees with a same-sex partner as those for workers in a heterosexual marriage.The Senate Transportation committee will continue work today on a bill that would authorize the Department of Motor Vehicles to issue driver’s licenses to Vermont residents who are in the country illegally. A veteran police officer in Rutland, suspended following an altercation at a hospital, has been cleared of any criminal conduct.
