Tests have confirmed low levels of two herbicides in some compost made at the Chittenden Solid Waste District facilities. Vermont can be a paradise for bicyclists in the summer, but a small band of activists are not just on vacation. Pedaling from town to town, and sleeping on church floors, they’re trying to raise awareness about climate change, and connect community leaders who are trying to do something about it. A tourism association in the Northeast Kingdom wants the town of Craftsbury to become a scenic byway destination for tourists.
