The longtime companion of a man who died in June after being shot with a stun gun by state police has sued the state police and the officer involved; a program designed to spur investment in communities has been adapted to help repair commercial property damaged by Irene, and cities and towns across Vermont are debating how to best treat their water systems to meet new regulations from the EPA.
