The board that oversees health care in Vermont is looking at health issues affecting the state’s undocumented farm workers. The board heard compelling stories of workers who avoid getting needed care because of fear they could be discovered and deported. Organizers of a gun show in South Burlington say people who sell firearms from their private collections will be required to do background checks on potential buyers. It’s estimated that Vermont will need to raise roughly $30 million in new transportation revenue in order to receive the maximum amount of federal funds.
