Many Vermonters are without power today, as high winds have knocked down trees and power lines.  At this hour, utilities are reporting nearly 15-thousand customers without power. The Vermont Agency of Natural Resources says it intends to deny a Moretown landfill’s request to recertify two areas where it disposes of trash. The University of Vermont has converted nearly a thousand bulbs on campus to LED lights. And finally, a candlelight vigil will be held in Montpelier this afternoon to remember the 26 victims of the shootings in Newtown, Conn.
