Brigadier General Thomas Drew is set to take command of the Vermont National Guard this morning.

Drew lives in Florence, in Rutland County. He takes over as state adjutant general from Major General Michael Dubie, who is moving to Colorado to take the number two post in the U.S. Northern Command. That’s responsible for overall homeland defense.

The 10:00 ceremony will culminate with the passing of the Green Mountain Boy Flag from Dubie to Drew, symbolizing the transition of leadership from one to the other.
