Governors from the six New England states Tuesday elected Vermont Governor Jim Douglas as vice chairman of the New England Governors’ Conference. Through the conference, the states work together on regional issues.

According to a press release from the governor’s office, Douglas also introduced a resolution in support of the reestablishment of a Northeast Interstate Dairy Compact. The Conference approved the resolution unanimously.
