A new book by UVM Professor Robert Gordon brings an anthropologist’s perspective to the notion of travel.

In the book "Going Abroad-Traveling Like An Anthropologist", Gordon argues that the experience of seeing the world can be enhanced by good preparation, meaningful interaction with the locals and a healthy disregard for the tourism industry.

VPR’s Neal Charnoff speaks with Robert Gordon about how astute travelers can learn as much about themselves as they can about the people and places they visit.
