A bridge linking northernmost Vermont and New Hampshire across the Connecticut River is set to close for four days for a detailed inspection.
The New Hampshire Department of Transportation, which owns the Bridge Street Bridge between West Stewartstown, N.H., and Beecher Falls, Vt., says it will close Monday, Jan. 4, though Thursday, Jan. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day.
Emergency vehicles from the Beecher Falls Fire Department will be allowed to cross the bridge if necessary during the closure periods.
A detour will be set up on both sides of the river directing other motorists to a nearby span linking Stewartstown, N.H., and Canaan, Vt.
