New Hampshire Congressman Paul Hodes has co-sponsored a measure that would require the United States to fund reconstruction in Iraq through loans.

Hodes says the U.S. can no longer continue to write blank checks to the Iraqi government while Americans are struggling to pay their own bills.

He and other freshmen House members signed letters to the Appropriations Committee and Subcommittee calling for future reconstruction in Iraq to be repaid out of that country’s oil revenues.
