Most of Vermont under winter storm warning

Most of Vermont is under a winter storm warning until tonight.

Heavy snow is falling in many parts of the state and that’s expected to continue into mid to late morning.

That’s when the precipitation could change over to sleet or a mix of sleet and snow.

Weather forecasters say the precipitation will change back over to all snow some time this afternoon.

The exception is the very southern sections of Vermont, where most of the day is supposed to be freezing rain or sleet.

By the time the storm winds down there could be up to a foot of snow in the northern parts of the state.
