Congressman Peter Welch believes the framework for Barack Obama’s winning presidential campaign was built in Vermont;  The latest vote count in the governor’s race shows Independent Anthony Pollina edging out Democrat Gaye Symington for second place. Democrats, Independents and Progressives are now looking back at the race, and they promise not to divide their vote in the future. Rutland voted overwhelmingly in favor of an article that gives voters – instead of the Board of Alderman – the final say over city spending.
