Vermont Yankee nuclear plant remains at only 25 percent power today in the wake of discovery of problems in cooling towers and continued low flow of its water source — the Connecticut River;  With heating oil prices skyrocketing, many people are looking at alternative, less costly ways to heat their homes.  Among the most popular in this part of the country are wood pellet stoves and furnaces.   But pellets and stoves are increasingly hard to come by.
