More Vermont soldiers are heading to Iraq.

The Guard announced today that about 130 soldiers from two companies of the first battalion of the 172 armor regiment are being mobilized in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

The soldiers will be serving as part of Brigade Combat Teams.

The soldiers will report for duty on November 29th and travel to Fort Bliss, Texas and Camp Selby, Mississippi, for training before they are sent overseas.

Earlier this month another 600 Vermont guard members were called to active duty. However guard officials say those soldiers will not be headed to Iraq.
