(Host intro)  A Montpelier landmark changed hands this week.

Filmmaker Terry Youk became the new owner of The Savoy Theater.

Youk bought the Main Street cinema from former owners Rick Winston and his wife Andrea Sirota.

Winston founded the Savoy in 1980, and it’s known for it’s commitment to independent and foreign films.

The theater has struggled in recent years to stay afloat, because of its single screen, and changing audience habits.

The sale also includes Downstairs Video, which is housed in the same building.

Terry Youk lives in Montpelier, and joins us in our Colchester studios.
