Montpelier Native Promoted to Four-Star General

A Montpelier native who has been in the Army for 32 years is being promoted to four-star general. Lieutenant General Richard Cody is currently the deputy chief of staff for Army operations. His promotion was confirmed yesterday by the U.S. Senate. He will become vice chief of staff of the Army. Cody graduated from Montpelier High School in 1968 and the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1972.
