Money for the Burlington airport, affordable housing projects and a drug task force in Vermont and $6.5 million for cleanup of Lake Champlain have been included in spending bills passed by Congress.

The Senate passed six of the 12 annual appropriations bills Sunday for the 2010 budget year that began Oct. 1. President Barack Obama is expected to sign the package this week.

A spokesman for Sen. Patrick Leahy says the bills include more than $25 million for projects in Vermont. Among the funds are $974,000 for taxiway work at the Burlington airport, $1.4 million for new buses and expanded service for Marble Valley Regional Transit, nearly $3.9 million for affordable housing and economic development projects and $1 million for the Vermont Drug Task Force.
