Mitchell Drops Out Of Gov’s Race

In the governor’s race, there’s one fewer candidate.

Ben Mitchell of Putney is on the ballot representing the Liberty Union and the Socialist parties. But he says he’s decided to drop out because he thinks Republican Brian Dubie’s positions are too conservative. Instead, Mitchell says he’ll support Democrat Peter Shumlin.

There are still four other independent and minor party candidates running for governor, in addition to Dubie and Shumlin.
