Missing canoeist found dead in Lake Champlain

Vermont State Police say the body of a missing canoeist has been pulled from Lake Champlain.

Thirty-year-old Bryan Kapschull of Grand Isle, disappeared early Sunday when the canoe he was in overturned off Grand Isle.

The other occupant of the canoe swam to shore and summoned help. Neither was wearing a life jacket.

Searchers from the Vermont State Police, U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Border Patrol searched for Kapschull, whose body was found yesterday in 25-foot deep waters.

The survivor was identified as 27-year-old Gian Luca Fremiotti, 27, of Pennsylvania.
